Reports: Real Madrid Cut Talks With Bundesliga Superstar
Spanish giants Real Madrid are apparently looking at bringing in a few reinforcements for next season, but new reports suggest that negotiations with a Bundesliga superstar have suddenly ended.
According to Sky Sports, Los Blancos have stopped all communications with Bayern Munich over the possibility of signing striker Robert Lewandowski as the Germans do not want to do business with LaLiga outfit
The Poland international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena this season, and many have tipped the Madrid club to be the 29-year-old's next destination.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has come out this week and insisted that Lewandowski will not be sold for any price as he has a long-term contract to honour.
"They do not have to worry about Robert Lewandowski and the relationship with Bayern. We have a very good one," Rummenigge told Kicker.
"We know what we have in Robert Lewandowski. I am very happy that we still have such a long-term contract. (There's) no need to worry – he will also play next season at Bayern Munich."
The former Borussia Dortmund striker is the Bundesliga's leading goalscorer so far this season, having netted 29 times in 29 league appearances.
