Bayern Munich were crowned 2017 German Super Cup winners, after they defeated Borussia Dortmund 5-4 on penalties on Saturday evening.
Dortmund opened the scoring after 12 minutes as Christian Pulisic pounced on a poor back-pass from Javi Martinez before firing into the corner.
Six minutes later, Carlo Ancelotti's charges found themselves level as Robert Lewandowski turned home Joshua Kimmich's low cross.
Bayern then had the chance to level matters in the 35th minute through Muller, but the forward's header struck the outside of the upright.
The Bavarians continued to press for another and were denied on the stroke of halftime as Roman Burki got down well to deny Sebastian Rudy.
After a quiet start to the second half, Dortmund had a chance to restore their lead in the 64th minute when Ousmane Dembele wonderfully picked out Castro, who failed to make contact in the box.
However, Dortmund were not to be denied in the 71st minutes as Dembele played in Aubameyang, who found the top corner with a lovely chip.
Ancelotti responded by introducing Renato Sanches for Corentin Tolisso in the closing stages as they pushed for an equaliser.
Bayern then leveled matters in the 88th minute as Kimmich unleashed a strike that deflected off Piszczek and sailed into the net.
The score remained level at the end of regulation time, forcing the clash into a penalty shoot-out, where Bayern triumphed to claim the cup for a sixth time.
