Borussia Dortmund scored three late goals to beat Schalke 3-0 in a German Bundesliga match at Signal-Iduna-Park on Saturday.
After a rather dull game, goals in the 78th minute from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in the 79th minute from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and in the 86th minute from Marco Reus handed Dortmund their eighth win of the season.
The result sees Dortmund up to tenth on the table with 28 points from 23 games while Schalke dropped to fifth with 35 points from the same number of games.
Bayer Leverkusen took advantage of Schalke’s loss to move up to fourth place on the table with a 1-0 win over Freiburg at the BayArena.
Simon Rolfes scored the only goal of the game to take Leverkusen’s point tally to 36 while Freiburg continues to struggle in the relegation zone in 17th place with 22 points.
Hertha BSC moved out of the relegation zone after a single goal from Salomon Kalou in the 88th minute handed them a 1-0 win over Augsburg at the Olympiastadion Berlin.
Hertha BSC are up to 14th on the league table with 24 points while Augsburg dropped to sixth with 35 points.
Two second half goals from Kevin Volland and Eugen Polanski handed Hoffenheim a 2-0 win over Mainz 05 at the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion.
The win sees Hoffenheim in seventh place on the table with 30 points while Mainz 05 are in 12th place with 25 points.
Elsewhere in the German Bundesliga, Hannover 96 and Stuttgart played to a 1-1 draw at the HDI-Arena.
The result sees Stuttgart rooted to the bottom of the league table with 18 points while Hannover 96 are in eleventh place with 26 points.
The last match of the day saw a brace from Alexander Meier hand Eintracht Frankfurt a 2-1 win over Hamburger SV at the Commerzbank-Arena.
The win sees Frankfurt up to eighth on the table with 31 points while Hamburger SV are in 15th place with 24 points.
