Borussia Dortmund picked up their third straight league win after defeating VFB Stuttgart 3-2 at the Mercedes- Benz Arena on Friday evening.
Stuttgart shot-stopper, Sven Ulreich, came to his side's rescue in the early stages, as the German shot-stopper pulled off a fine save to keep out Marcel Schmelzer's powerful effort.
Dortmund eventually broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rounded off a fine build-up with a composed finish from 12-yards out.
Stuttgart hit back minutes later from the penalty spot, after Nuri Sahin was adjudged to have brought down Hlousek and Florian Klein stepped up and dispatched the spot-kick.
However, Jurgen Klopp's men restored their lead in the 39th minute, as another neat passing move ended up with Ilkay Gündogan poking the ball past Sven Ulreich.
It was proving to be a busy evening for Ulreich, the shot-stopper pulled off a crucial save in the 53rd minute, denying Shinji Kagawa from three-yards out.
Dortmund continued to pile on the pressure and nearly bagged a third in the 77th minute but once again Ulreich was on hand to keep out Sahin's strike from distance.
The three points were sealed in the 88th minute, as Marco Reus pounced on poor back pass from Timo Baumgartl, before he rounded Ulreich to slot into an empty net.
Stuttgart managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Georg Niedermeier's well-placed header but it wasn't enough, as Dortmund held on for the win.
