Borussia Dortmund and Koln played to a goalless draw in a lacklustre Bundesliga match on Saturday night at the Signal Induna Park.
Koln nearly broke the deadlock as early as the fifth minute as their bulky striker Ujah ran into space and rounded Dortmund's goalkeeper Wiedenfeller, only to be let down by his second touch which afforded the goalkeeper enough time to get back on his feet and make a save.
However, it was the home side who enjoyed more possession and dictated the proceedings for the better part of the first stanza. Despite the dominance of Dortmund both teams headed for the half-time break with no goals scored.
The second half also failed to produce any fireworks as both teams failed to find the back of the net as the match ended in a goalless stalemate.
In other Bundesliga matches played, Augsburg suffered a home defeat to Mainz 05 as Okazaki and ja-Cheol Koo found the net for the vistors. Hoffenheim trashed Hamburger 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Polanksi and a goal from Rudy. Hamburg finished the game with ten men as Drobny received his marching orders in the 19th minute.
Hertha BSC and Schalke produced a four goal thriller as they shared the spoils in a 2-2 encounter. Ben-Harira and Haraguchi scored for the home side while Lane and Matip found the back of the net for Schalke.
Eintracht Frankhurt annihilated Paderborn 4-0, Meier, Stendera, Aigner and Valdez were on the score sheet.
