Bayern Munich returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga with a 3-1 win over Hannover at the Allianz Arena on Saturday evening.
Arturo Vidal found the breakthrough in the 17th minute with a header at the back post following a good cross from Thomas Muller, 1-0.
Andre Breitenreiter's charges were awarded a penalty in the 27th minute but Niclas Fullkrug missed a retake after his first attempt was ruled out for encroachment.
However, Charlison Benschop did find the equaliser in the 36th minute with a glancing header at the near post following an in-swinging corner from Felix Kraus, 1-1.
The visitors were showing resilience in the closing minutes of the half after their persistence was rewarded with a goal finally while Jupp Heynckes' troops were disorganized going forward.
The hosts were dominating at the beginning of the second stanza as Rodriguez could have sent them ahead in the 56th minute but his curler from the edge of the box sailed over the bar.
Kingsley Coman made it 2-1 for Jupp Heynckes' troops in the 67th minute against the run of play with a powerful left footed strike at the near post.
Muller should have ensured a two-goal cushion for the Bavarians with 10 minutes to play with a strike inside the box but was denied by the brilliance of goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner.
The hosts continued to surge forward with five minutes left on the clock while the visitors could not get out of their own half as a result.
Bayern were awarded a penalty in the 87th minute for a foul on Coman and Robert Lewandowski stepped up to slot home from 12-yards and take the game away from Hannover., 3-1.
