Kevin de Bruyne bagged a brace and assisted another, as Wolfsburg thumped Bayern Munich 4-1 in a German Bundesliga clash at the Volkswagen Arena.
Wolfsburg opened the scoring as early as the third minute, as Kevin de Bruyne unselfishly teed up Bas Dost, who placed his effort into the far corner.
Despite going a goal down, Bayern continued to see most of the ball, although Wolfsburg's pressing game pressured the visitors into making numerous errors.
Wolfsburg should have been two goals up just before the halftime break, but an un-marked Dost failed to hit the target from close range with only Manuel Neuer to beat.
However, the home side did get a second goal before the halftime break courtesy of a wonderful volley from Dost.
It got better for Wolfsburg in the 53rd minute, as Maximilian Arnold played in De Bruyne with a delightful ball and the ball Belgian made no mistake from six-yards out.
Pepe Guardiola's side managed to pull a goal back a minute later, as Juan Bernat slotted into an empty net, after a poor first touch from Naldo presented the Spaniard with the chance.
Wolfsburg added a fourth in the 75th minute, as Arnold delightfully picked out De Bruyne, who rifled the ball into the roof of the net for his second of the night.
