DFB Pokal
Result: Wolfsburg 1-3 Bayern Munich
Date: 27 October 2015
Venue: Volkswagen Arena
Thomas Muller was on song for Bayern Munich, as they claimed a 3-1 win over Wolfsburg in their DFB Pokal tie on Tuesday evening.
Bayern went close to breaking the deadlock after just five minutes when Robert Lewandowski teed up Muller in the box, however Diego Benaglio was on hand to deny the German forward.
The visitors eventually broke the deadlock in the 15th minute when Douglas Costa skipped past one challenge, before firing a venomous strike into the top corner from 25-yards out.
It got better for the Bavarians five minutes later as David Alaba unselfishly teed up Muller for the easiest of tap-ins.
Pep Guardiola's side continued to dominate in the first half and managed to grab a third goal in the 34th minute, as Kingsley Coman combined with Alaba, who picked out Muller who volleyed home at the far post.
Muller nearly completed his hat-trick just before the halftime but the forward's volley forced Benaglio into a fine save.
Daniel Caligiuri had Wolfsburg's first meaningful effort on target shortly after the break when he rifled an effort just wide of Manuel Neuer's upright.
The home side should have reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute but Neuer was on hand to keep deny Caligiuri in a one-on-one situation.
Wolfsburg managed to pull a goal back in stoppage time, as Andre Schurrle fired a low effort past Neuer from inside the box.
Although, that goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation as the game ended 3-1 in Bayern's favour.
