Dortmund Remain Rooted To The Bottom

Borussia Dortmund remain rooted to the bottom of the German Bundesliga after a 1-0 loss to ten man Augsburg in a league match at Signal-Iduna-Park on Wednesday night.

A single goal from Raul Bobadilla five minutes into the second half handed Dortmund their 11th loss of the league season and sees them firmly placed at the bottom of the log with 16 points.

Augsburg finished the match with ten men after Christoph Janker was shown a red card in the 64th minute.

The win, thought, for Augsburg sees them jump above Schalke on the table into fourth place on 33 points, the same number of points as third placed Borussia M’gladback but with an inferior goal difference.

Beyer Leverkusen also moved above Schalke on the table with a slender 1-0 win over Hertha BSC thanks to a Stefan Kiebling goal in the 49th minute.

The win takes Beyer Leverkusen into fifth place with 32 points, only a point behind fourth placed Augsburg while the loss for Hertha BSC sees them drop into the relegation zone in 17th place on 18 points.

Goals from Franco Di Santo and Phillipp Bargfrede handed Werder Bremen a 2-0 win over Hoffenheim at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

The win sees Werder Bremen move up to 11th place with 23 points while Hoffenheim remain in seventh place on 26 points.

Koln moved up to tenth place with a 0-0 draw against Stuttgart who are still in the relegation zone in 16th place with 18 points.

The final Bundesliga game on Wednesday night saw Hamburger SV with an impressive 3-0 win over Paderborn which lifts them out of the relegation zone into 13th place with 20 points while their opposition sit one place below them on 19 points.
