Bayern Steamroll Werder Bremen

Bayern Munich's reign at the top of the Bundesliga continued on Saturday as they swiped aside Werder Bremen 4-0.

The Bavarians got their noses in front in the 24th minute. Robert Lewandowski created the initial opportunity with a superb pass to Thomas Muller whose first shot was saved. However, Mario Gotze claimed the loose ball and set up Muller for a second chance that he curled around Wolf in the Bremen goal.

The advantage was doubled on the stroke of half-time. A free kick was taken by David Alaba who curled it beautifully past the wall to find the top corner of the goal with Wolf well beaten.

The result was secured in the 76th minute when Jerome Boateng took the ball from Fritz and set it up for Muller who chipped it over the keeper allowing Lewandowski to head the bouncing ball home from close range.

Bayern emphasised their dominance in stoppage time as they added a fourth goal. Muller and Lewandowski combined yet again with a clever one-two that resulted in the Polish striker completing his brace and handing the visitors a 4-0 win.
