Result: Stuttgart 0-2 Bayern
Date: 7 February 2015
Bayern Munich recorded their first competitive win of the year as they beat Stuttgart 2-0 on Saturday.
Heading into the clash, the visitors had not won a game in 2015 but still reigned supreme at the top of the league standings.
The hosts had the first chance of the game in the 27th minute. Ibisevic played a long ball forward for Gotoku Sakai on the counter attack and the Japanese defender got a shot away, but it bent inches wide of the goal.
However, it was the Bavarians who broke the deadlock four minutes before the half-time break. A deft bouncing pass from Weiser found Arjen Robben in the area and the Dutchman did the rest as he ran onto the loose ball before smashing it home.
Five minutes into the second half Bayern extended their lead to two goals. David Alaba provided a moment of individual brilliance as he curled a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner of the Stuttgart goal, giving the hosts a mountain to climb.
The second goal knocked the stuffing out of Stuttgart and they struggled to maintain possession, let alone threaten to pull a goal back against the European giants.
