Frankfurt Hold Bayern To Goalless Draw
Result: Frankfurt 0-0 Bayern
Date: 30 October 2015
Eintracht Frankfurt held Bayern Munich to a goalless draw in their Bundesliga clash on Friday night.
Die Roten threatened to hit the front after only 12 minutes. Arjen Robben's high cross found Arturo Vidal but his close-range header was superbly saved by Hradecky.
The visitors came close again in the 31st minute when Xabi Alonso picked out Javi Martinez with a floated ball into the box, but he couldn't place his header on target.
Seven minutes before the break Vidal stole possession from Frankfurt and sent it on for Costa who pierced the defence before passing to Robert Lewandowski to shoot, but he was flagged offside.
In the first minute of the second half the visitors were almost in the lead. Lewandowski got the ball after a mistake from Zambrano and sent it to Costa, but his shot was palmed wide by the keeper.
Frankfurt had a chance of their own when a corner kick was flicked on by Seferovic, but Aigner was not ready for it and missed the opportunity to poke the ball home.
The Bavarians were celebrating the win in the 89th minute when Boateng found Lewandowski who slotted it past the keeper, but the goal was disallowed and the visitors had to settle for a draw.
