Result: Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Freiburg
Date: 23 September 2016
Venue: Signal-Iduna Park
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted on his 100th Bundesliga appearance for Borussia Dortmund, as they defeated Feiburg 3-1 on Friday evening.
Dortmund named a strong line-up for the clash, despite having to play a Champions League game in a few days, as the likes of Mario Gotze, Moussa Dembele and Aubameyang all started.
However, the hosts had to wait until the 22nd minute for the first real opening when Emre Mor rattled the crossbar with a strike from 25-yards out.
Freiburg did have a bit of joy as the second half, but they struggled to carve out clear-cut openings in the final third.
Dortmund eventually broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime as Dembele played a fine pass to Aubameyang, who slid the ball home from close range.
The hosts doubled their lead after 53 minutes as Castro's pass deflected into the path of Lukasz Piszczek, who fired home from close range, 2-0.
Freiburg pulled a goal back on the hour-mark, as Maximilian Philipp broke through on goal and calmly slotted past Burki.
Dortmund coach, Thomas Tuchel opted for a double change after 70 minutes as he introduced Raphael Guerreiro and Sebastian Rode as they looked to secure the win.
The home side managed to seal the victory in stoppage time, as Guerreiro turned home Gonzalo Castro's cross for Dortmund's third goal of the game.
