Venue: Allianz Arena
Bayern Munich picked up all three points as they squeezed past Augsburg 2-1 in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday.
Die Roten came close only seven minutes into the game when Robert Lewandowski ran onto Xabi Alonso's corner kick, flicking it on for Thomas Mueller but a deflection prevented the Germany international from getting the vital touch on the ball at the far post.
The hosts were on the front foot again in the 21st minute as Alaba powered down the left flank before crossing for Thiago to head goalwards but Hitz made a sensational save to keep the scoreline at 0-0.
However, the scoring was opened by Augsburg two minutes before the interval. Bobadilla found space on the right and cut the ball back for Koo who played it on for Alexander Esswein to run onto and smash into the top corner of Manuel Neuer's goal.
Just past the hour mark Hitz made another great save to keep the visitors in front. Alonso thumped a free kick on target but the goalkeeper dove across and palmed it away.
Bayern finally drew level in the 77th minute thanks to powerful play from Lewandowski. The Polish striker beat two defenders to set up Mueller whose shot was parried but only as far as Lewandowski who continued his run and slotted it.
A controversial penalty decision in the 87th minute gave Bayern the chance to snatch three points at the death. Costa seemed to run into Augsburg full-back Feulner before going to ground in the area but the spot-kick was awarded and Mueller slotted it to secure the win.
