Result: Bayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich
Date: 15 April 2017
Venue: BayArena
Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich were left frustrated, after they were held to a 0-0 draw by ten-man Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday evening.
Leverkusen had a chance to break the deadlock after nine minutes through Kevin Volland, but Rafinha popped up with a superb tackle to deny the striker from six-yards out.
Bernd Leno came to the hosts' rescue in the 19th minute, as he produced a fine save to keep out Juan Bernat's close range effort.
Bayern went agonisingly close to handing Bayern the lead on 32 minutes but his header was brilliantly cleared off the line by Omer Torpark.
Leno had to be at his best once again in the 37th minute, as he did well to deny Thomas Muller, before Thiago Alcantara fired over from close range minutes later.
However, the score remained goalless as the sides entered the halftime break.
The Bavarians had a couple more chances after the break, but the likes of Muller and Arturo Vidal failed to take advantage.
However, Leverkusen's job was made even more tougher when they were reduced to 10 men in the 59th minute as Tin Jedvaj picked up his second yellow card of the game.
Carlo Ancelotti responded by introducing Arjen Robben for Douglas as they looked to secure the opening goal.
The Bundesliga leaders should have gone ahead after 86 minutes but Philipp Lahm somehow placed his effort wide of the upright from six-yards out.
Bayern pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages, but were unable to bypass a stubborn Leverkusen defence.
