Tuchel led parted ways with Dormtund at the end May, despite leading the club to a DFB Pokal title and a third place finish in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund have now confirmed that former Ajax Amsterdam coach, Peter Bosz will take over the reigns and sign a new two-year deal.
"Dortmund are among the biggest clubs in Europe. It is a great honour to train this club,' Bosz was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
"I'm sure it's the right step. We had a long talk together, over three hours, and we spoke about everything.
"I am convinced that we can work very well together."
Bosz only spent one season at Amsterdam, and helped the club to second spot in the Dutch Eredivisie, while they also made it to the Europa League final, where they lost 2-0 to Manchester United.
