Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is just 18 years old, but has already set the Bundesliga alight. Despite not starting in any of Dortmund's first six league games of the campaign, he has already assisted five goals this season.
On the weekend, Sancho again wrote the headlines after coming off the bench against Bayer Leverkusen, who were leading 2-1 at the time of his introduction to the fixture. Just one minute later, he assisted Marco Reus' equaliser, before also setting up Dortmund's fourth in the final minute of the game to seal a 4-2 comeback win.
"I just had a bit more energy, you know," the Englishman told the Bundesliga's official website.
"The rest were a bit tired and I came on to help the team. The coach keeps rotating so that's how strong this team is.
"Obviously, I don't want to be a sub – but if I keep on working hard, hopefully I can get in the starting XI."
Dortmund captain Reus was full of praise for his teammate, who currently has the joint most assists in Europe's top five leagues, after the match.
"When our opponents ease off a little and Jadon comes into the game, he's a weapon for us every single time," the Germany star explained.
"We're happy to have him up our sleeve and he always gives us a boost."
Sancho, who left Manchester City's youth academy at the beginning of last season, has played only 124 minutes in the Bundesliga so far in this campaign, which means he has assisted a goal every 25 minutes.
The 18-year-old leads the assists rankings along with Ronaldo, and is ahead of Messi and four others who have set up four goals so far.
Overall, Dortmund have scored 10 goals in 124 minutes with Sancho on the pitch, and only nine times in 416 minutes without him.
