When Robert Lewandowski was asked recently about the prospect of Leroy Sane joining Bayern Munich, the Polish forward appeared to give away perhaps a little too much information.
Manchester City's 23-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a switch to the Bavarians in this transfer window, with manager Pep Guardiola said to be willing to sell the Germany international.
A question over Sane's possible arrival was put to superstar striker Lewandowski recently, and he responded with plenty of confidence before backtracking slightly.
"Bayern's German players are now very much looking forward to Sane's signing," he said, according to Kicker.
"But we have to wait and see what is going on."
Leon Goretzka has also urged Sane to join the Bundesliga champions.
"We would all be very happy about it if or when he comes," he said.
"But I won't be putting pressure on him or try and influence his opinion. I was in a similar situation last year and I had to take a decision for myself. And I am also of the opinion, it is best to take the decision alone.
"I think Bayern Munich can keep up with the top clubs in the Premier League and we are still one of the best and biggest clubs in the world. Leroy knows that."
Sane has played 133 matches for City since his arrival at the Etihad in 2016, scoring 39 goals and assisting a further 45 strikes.
