A South African-born defender who has been in excellent form for Bayer Leverkusen this season is attracting interest from three top European clubs, including FC Barcelona.
Earlier this month, the Daily Mirror speculated that Arsenal were weighing up a move for Leverkusen's Panagiotis Retsos.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Johannesburg but plays for Greece at international level, has impressed the Gunners' scouts and is apparently being lined up to be one of their defenders for the 2018/19 campaign.
The former Olympiacos player has also reportedly been chased by Tottenham Hotspur, with the North London side having sent scouts to watch him in action last year.
That was, however, before Retsos signed for Leverkusen on the final day of the transfer window at the beginning of the season, although Spurs are likely to still be keeping a close eye on the player.
Mundo Deportivo have previously reported that Catalan giants Barca have also shown interest in player, who made his international debut last year.
It was said that the Blaugrana could see Retsos as a potential future replacement for seasoned veterans Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen.
The defender has played 29 times for Leverkusen so far this season, scoring once and assisting a further three strikes.
Do you think Retsos should remain in Germany to develop further, or should he make a move to a top club as soon as possible? Let us know in the comments section below.
