Everton are reportedly close to signing Bayern Munich's young striker Joshua Zirkzee on loan to bolster their attack.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up a hamstring injury recently and it's not when the England international will return.
With Carlo Ancelotti looking to add more firepower, TalkSPORT reported that the Toffees are now close to sealing a loan move for the 19-year-old.
It is believed that the intial deal will be a six-month loan deal with a view to make the deal permanent next season.
Zirkzee managed to bag four goals for the Bavarians last season, but he is yet to find the back of the net in six matches this campaign.
Cenk Tuson is still on Everton's books but he has only appeared in the cups this season, as Ancelotti started without a recognised striker against Wolverhampton Wanderers this week.
It remains to be seen if Bayern will let the young striker leave after manager Hansi Flick revealed the squad were affected by the departure of Philippe Coutinho, Thiago and Ivan Perisic.
“I have to criticise the buying policy a bit. With Philippe Coutinho, Thiago and Ivan Perisic, you lost three players," he told Sky Deutschland
“They were, of course, important players. They were always there and brought the necessary quality with them.
“With many newcomers, it may take a certain amount of time to get going or the quality may simply not be there to say: 'They make the difference'.
“You knew from the start that it would be a long and difficult season with lots of games. I think that the breadth of the squad in terms of quality is not set up in such a way that you can go through rotation and still maintain the quality.”
