African superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is once again in hot water at Borussia Dortmund and was axed from their latest matchday squad, has now been linked with a R904 million move to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old seems keen to leave the German side this month, and Arsenal, who recently appointed Dortmund's chief scout Sven Mislintat, are reportedly interested in his services.
Amid rumours that Alexis Sanchez could depart the Gunners in January, Sky Sports' Guillem Balague believes the Gunners want Aubamyang as his replacement and that Dortmund are set to make a decision on their striker on Tuesday.
"It's clear that Arsenal are in conversations with the player (Aubameyang) and Borussia Dortmund," Balague wote for Sky Sports.
"They think they've convinced the player to join Arsenal, but of course there's still a big obstacle to beat, which is: Borussia Dortmund.
"Arsenal will hear tomorrow (Tuesday) if Dortmund are selling cheaply, expensively, quickly, or if they're willing to sell at all.
"Nobody expects this deal to happen early in the week; it may take the whole week, or even more.
"Arsenal are willing to pay €60 million (R904 million). They are optimistic – they think this is a deal that could be done."
Aubameyang was dropped from Dortmund's squad for their 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg on Sunday after snubbing a team meeting the day before. He returned to training on Monday, but reports in Germany suggest he wants to leave the club this month.
