Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of a striker from FC Barcelona in their attempt to fill the void left by African superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang left BVB in January 2018 after forcing his way out of the club to join Arsenal, and was initially replaced by Michy Batshuayi.
However, the Belgian striker returned to Chelsea following the expiry of his loan deal, and has since joined Valencia in another loan stint.
Dortmund were thus in the market for a proven goalscorer, and have now agreed to take Spanish striker Paco Alcacer on loan this season.
The 24-year-old joins the Bundesliga side from FC Barcelona, where he struggled to live up to expectations after joining the Catalan giants for €30 million (R495 million) in August 2016.
Alcacer has made 50 appearances for the Blaugrana since moving to the Camp Nou, scoring 15 goals and assisting another eight strikes.
