With the transfer window now in full swing, Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of a French 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, who will join them by the end of the 2018/19 season.
The Bavarians, who have somewhat surprisingly struggled in the first half of the Bundesliga season, have announced that Benjamin Pavard will join the club on 1 July 2019, according to sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
Bayern activated a release clause in the contract of the 22-year-old, who allows him to leave for a reported fee of €35 million (R557 million).
Pavard, who was one of the shooting stars at the 2018 FIFA World after starting six of France's seven games and scoring the Goal of the Tournament, will join the club on a five-year deal.
