Bayern Munich star striker Robert Lewandowski has explained why he has lost motivation after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left Borussia Dortmund to join Arsenal.
The Gabon international joined the Gunners from Dortmund in a club-record deal on Deadline Day last month.
Lewandowski and Aubameyang played together at Dortmund in the past, but the Polish striker reveals he will miss dueling with the Gabon international for the Golden Boot.
“For the last three years I’ve competed with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to be the top scorer,” said Lewandowski.
"Now that he’s gone, maybe a part of my motivation that came from our duel has also gone.
"Obviously, when you have that rivalry, you’re a bit more motivated.”
