Sane Breaks Silence On Pep Relationship

With Leroy Sane reportedly not always seeing eye to eye with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and rumours suggesting that the duo had a fallout before he joined Bayern Munich, the winger has now broken his silence on their relationship.

The Germany international left City earlier this month, with both this season's Premier League and UEFA Champions League campaigns still to be completed.

Sane has now given his first interview as Bayern player, and opened up about his relationship with the City boss.

"Our relationship is good," he said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

"There was never a point when one was tired of the other and I am grateful for everything he taught me.

"Pep Guardiola helped me to a very high level. He is very meticulous and wants to advance the players every day.

"He is persistent when it comes to his tactics – but that's positive, it helped me. We even lived in the same building, so we saw each other often.

"It was not easy for me (to leave). Pep Guardiola and his fantastic team were the reason why I moved to Manchester.

"But it was in my head that I wanted to do something new.

"FC Bayern's concept and plans best matched my ideas. That's why I came to my decision."

Ironically, the Citizens and the Bavarians will meet in the semi-finals of the Champions League if both sides qualify for the last four.

The 24-year-old joined Bayern in a move estimated to be worth €45 million (R855 million), plus an unnamed amount in add-ons, after spending four years with the Premier League side.
