Police in Germany are reportedly investigating the "match-fixing" comments made by Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham following their 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich this past weekend.
After Dortmund's defeat in Der Klassiker on Saturday, the 18-year-old England international caused a huge stir with his remarks about referee Felix Zwayer.
The match official turned down two big penalty appeals from BVB during the game, only to later hand Bayern a spot-kick after Mats Hummels was adjudged to have handled the ball in his own box.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Bellingham told ViaPlay: "You give a referee, that has match-fixed before, the biggest game in Germany, what do you expect?
"For me, it wasn't (a penalty). He (Hummels) is not even looking at the ball and he's fighting to get it and it hits him. You can look at a lot of the decisions in the game."
Bellingham was referring to when Zwayer was slapped with a six-month ban in 2005 after he became embroiled in a match-fixing scandal.
According to Sky Sports, a criminal complaint has now been filed and the case "will be forwarded to the Dortmund public prosecutor's office, who will determine whether there will be any criminal charges against Bellingham, with a decision expected later on this week".
