RB Leipzig were impressive on Sunday scoring six goals to climb the German Bundesliga table while ten-man Eintracht Frankfurt held on for the win and Bayer Leverkusen continue to dwindle.
Freiburg 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen continue to struggle in the league as they played to a goalless draw against Freiburg at the Schwarzwald-Stadion.
The result leaves Leverkusen only two places above the relegation zone in 14th place with seven points while Freiburg are in 11th place.
Hoffenheim 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
Despite being reduced to ten men in the 64th minute Eintracht Frankfurt were able to hold on for a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar Arena.
Ante Rebic opened the scoring for Frankfurt in the 40th minute before Luka Jovic doubled their lead a minute into the second half.
In the 64th minute things started to turn for Frankfurt as they were reduced to ten men following a second yellow card for Rebic which left them on the backfoot.
Nonetheless, despite an 82nd minute goal from Reiss Nelson, Frankfurt were able to hold on for the win which sees them up to seventh on the table while Hoffenheim are in 13th place.
RB Leipzig 6-0 Nurnberg
RB Leipzig climbed to second on the league table with an extremely impressive 6-0 victory over Nurnberg at the Red Bull Arena.
Kevin Kampl opened the scoring as early as the third minute and doubled their lead in the seventh minute thanks to a strike from Yussuf Poulsen.
Marcel Sabitzer made it 3-0 for Leipzig in the 21st minute and Timo Werner added the fourth on the half hour mark to make it 4-0 at the break.
Marcel Halstenberg scored his side’s firth goal ten minutes into the second half before Werner grabbed his brace on the hour mark to make it 6-0.
The win leaves Leipzig only three points behind league leaders Dortmund while Nurnberg dropped to 12th place.
