Kevin Volland netted a hat-trick as Bayer Leverkusen thumped Eintracht Frankfurt, while there were also wins for Hoffenheim and Hertha Berlin in Saturday's Bundesliga action.
Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
Kevin Volland’s hat-trick inspired Bayer Leverkusen to a 4-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Julian Brandt opened the scoring for Leverkusen in the 20th minute but Marco Fabian leveled matters for Frankfurt three minutes later.
However, Volland got on the scoresheet in the 71st minute to give the hosts the lead before he made it 3-1 six minutes later. He completed his hat-trick two minutes before time to round off an emphatic win.
Hoffenheim 2-0 Hamburg
Hoffenheim cruised to a 2-0 victory over Hamburg.
Serge Gnabry grabbed the lead for Hoffenheim in the 18th minute before Adam Szalai made it 2-0 three minutes before half-an-hour.
Hertha Berlin 2-1 FC Koln
Davie Selke netted a brace to help Hertha Berlin sink FC Koln 2-1.
Stuttgart 1-1 Hannover
Stuttgart and Hannover shared the spoils as they played to a 1-1 stalemate.
Erik Thommy broke the deadlock eight minutes after the break for Stuttgart but Niclas Fullkrug ensured the share of spoils for Hannover a minute into stoppage time.
