RB Leipzig 3-1 Schalke

Leipzig began the year on a high after defeating Schalke 3-1 win at the Red Bull Arena.

Naby Keita opened the scoring for the hosts before Naldo leveled matters 10 minutes into the second half.

Timo Werner restored Leipzig's lead in the 69th minute before Bruma sealed the win two minutes later.

Hannover 3 - 2 Mainz

Niclas Fullkrug netted a hat-trick to inspire Hannover to a 3-2 victory over Mainz on Saturday afternoon.

Yoshinori Muto opened the scoring for Mainz in the 26th minute Alexander Hack doubled the lead in the 31st minute. Fullkrug scored in the 33rd, 38th and 75th minute to complete a comeback and a hat-trick.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1 - 1 Freiburg 

Robin Koch earned Freiburg a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon.

Sebastien Haller opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Koch salvaged a draw for Freiburg.

Stuttgart 1 - 0 Hertha Berlin 

Niklas Stark's own goal condemned Hertha Berlin to a 1-0 defeat to Stuttgart on Saturday afternoon.

Werder Bremen 1 - 1 Hoffenheim 

Theodor Gebre Selassie salvaged a 1-1 draw for Werder Bremen against Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.

Benjamin Hubner opened the scoring six minutes before the break and Gebre Selassie equalised three minutes after the hour.

Augsburg 1 - 0 Hamburg

Koo Ja-Cheol handed Augsburg a narrow 1-0 victory over Hamburg on Saturday afternoon.

Ja-Cheol scored on the stroke of halftime to seal the win.
