Frankfurt Miss Out On Top Four After Loss To Bremen

Werder Bremen 2-1 Eintracht Frankfurt

David Abraham’s own goal ten minutes before time condemned Eintracht Frankfurt to a 2-1 defeat against Werder Bremen on Sunday afternoon.

Zlatko Junuzovic opened the scoring for Bremen in the 28th minute but Luka Jovic equalised for Frankfurt eight minutes into the second stanza.

Abraham netted an own goal with 10 minutes remaining to hand Bremen all the three points.

As a result, Bremen find themselves 12th on the table with 36 points from 28 games while Frankfurt are fighting for European places lying sixth with 45 points from 28 matches.

Mainz 0-0 Borussia Monchengladbach

Mainz kept their hopes of avoiding relegation alive despite playing to a goalless draw with Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday evening.

Mainz have had a turn-around in form as they have moved away from the bottom of the table to occupy the 16th spot with 26 points from 28 games, level on points with Wolfsburg who are one place above them by virtue of a better goal difference.
