Result: Stuttgart 0-3 Eintracht Frankfurt
Date: 02 November 2018
Venue: Mercedes-Benz Arena
Stuttgart's disastrous start to the Bundesliga continued after they went down 3-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena on Friday evening.
The hosts came into the tie having lost their last three league encounters, while Frankfurt were unbeaten in their last four matches.
It was the visitors who got off to a perfect start, as Sebastien Haller found the back of the net with his seventh goal of the campaign.
Despite the early set-back, Stuttgart dominated the encounter as they went in search of an equaliser but they were unable to mount a serious attempt at goal.
However, Frankfurt doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Luka Jovic's cross found Ante Rebic, who guided a header into the top corner.
The visitors managed to defend well enough to restrict Stuttgart in the remaining stages of half and entered the break with a two-goal advantage.
Stuttgart did have the ball in the back of the net through Berkay Oezcan after 68 minutes, but the goal was flagged for an offside in the build-up.
The hosts continued to push for a way back into the encounter, but they were dealt a blow late on after Oezcan was forced off due to an injury. He was replaced by Gonzalo Castro.
Nicolai Muller rounded off the scoring for the visitors in the 89th minute, nodding home at the far post.
The win sees Frankfurt move up to third spot, while Stuttgart remain rooted to the foot of the table.
