Muller Shines As Bayern Cruise Past Hannover
German Bundesliga Report: Hannover v Bayern Munich 21 April 2018
Result: Hannover 0-3 Bayern Munich
Date: 21 April 2018
Venue: HDI Arena
Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski were among the goals as Bayern Munich cruised to a 3-0 win over Hannover in the Bundesliga at the HDI Arena on Saturday.
After a quiet start to the first-half, Bayern went close to taking the lead on 18 minutes as James Rodriguez picked out Sandro Wanger, whose header was tipped away by Philipp Tschauner.
Sven Ulreich was called into action at the other end after 28 minutes as the Bayern shot-stopper produced a fine save to keep out Huber's flick at the near post.
The Bavarians went close once again just before the break but Tschauner was on hand to keep out Thiago Alcantara's long-range strike as the two sides entered the half-time break with the score locked at 0-0.
Bayern eventually took the lead on 57 minutes as Muller latched onto a pass from Juan Bernat before firing past Tschauner.
Despite getting the breakthrough, Bavarians coach Jupp Heynckes decided to add more attacking power as Lewandowski replaced Wagner on 67 minutes.
The change certainly paid off as Lewandowski doubled Bayern's lead in the 73rd minute by heading home Sebastian Rudy's cross.
Rudy went from provider to scorer in the 89th minute, with the midfielder turning home Muller's cut-back in the box to round off a good away win.
