Bayern's 14-Game Winning Run Halted By Hertha
German Bundesliga Report: Bayern Munich v Hertha Berlin 24 February 2018
Result: Bayern Munich 0-0 Hertha Berlin
Date: 24 February 2018
Venue: Allianz Arena
Bayern Munich's 14-game winning run in all competitions came to a halt, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Hertha Berlin at the Allianz Arena.
As expected, the Bavarians dominated the possession statistics and managed to carve out a couple chances, with Robert Lewandowski and Javi Martinez going close in the opening 15 minutes.
Bayern squandered another opening on the 30-minute mark when Mats Hummels picked out Lewandowski, who sent a towering header over the bar.
The visitors, meanwhile, struggled to get the ball off the Bundesliga leaders, which led to a lack of chances in the opening stanza.
That proved to be the trend for the rest of the half, as the sides went into the halftime break goalless.
Bayern started the second half in the same fashion as the first, with Lewandowski being denied twice by goalkeeper Rune Jarstein.
The hosts were having no luck in penetrating the Berlin defence, which prompted Jupp Heynckes to introduce Kingsley Coman for Franck Ribery in the 70th minute.
The Bundesliga champions threw everything forward in search of a winning goal in the closing stages.
Unfortunately for the host, they were unable to bypass the visitors and had to settle for a point, which sees their incredible winning run come to an end.
