German Bundesliga
Result: Bayern Munich 1-1 Augsburg
Date: 25 September 2018
Venue: Allianz Arena
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have lost their perfect record this season after they drew 1-1 with Augsburg at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening.
Bayern coach Niko Kovac made four changes to the side that defeated Schalke over the weekend, as David Alaba, James Rodriguez, Franck Riber and Robert Lewandowski all dropped out.
Bayern went close to breaking the deadlock after just seven minutes, with Thomas Muller rattling the upright with a deflected effort from close range.
Sandro Wagner, who came in for Lewandowski, had a chance to break the deadlock in the 33rd minute, but he sent a header wide of the mark before Renato Sanches blazed over the crossbar minutes later.
It was a half to forget for Wagner as the German forward squandered a couple more chances before the halftime break, firing straight at goalkeeper on both occasions.
Three minutes into the second half, Bayern broke the deadlock as Serge Gnabry did well to pick out Robben, who rounded Andreas Luthe and fired into an empty net.
Alaba, who was introduced at halftime, went close to doubling Bayern's lead in the 73rd minute but his strike from distance forced Luthe into a fine save.
The hosts had the ball in the back of the net in the 84th minute , but Ribery's strike was ruled out for an offside in the build-up with Muller.
Despite Bayern's late push in the game, it was Augsburg who snatched a late equaliser through Felix Gotze, the brother of World Cup winner Mario.
