Result: Augsburg 1-4 Bayern Munich
Date: 07 April 2018
Venue: WWK Arena
Bayern Munich secured their sixth successive Bundesliga title with five games to spare as they defeated Augsburg 4-1 at WWK Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Bavarians did not get off the best of starts as they fell behind in the 18th minute through an own goal from Niklas Sule.
However, Bayern managed to level matters in the 32nd minute as Joshua Kimmich picked out Christian Tolisso, who slotted home from six-yards out.
The turnaround was complete six minutes later as James Rodriguez sent a fine low finish into the back of the net from close range after some good work by Kimmich and Arjen Robben.
That proved to be the final piece of goal-mouth action in the half as the Bundesliga leaders went into break 2-1 up.
After a quiet spell to the second half, Bayern extended their advantage on 62 minutes with a thumping strike at the near post.
The goals continued to fly in for the visitors as Sandro Wagner got in on the act in the 89th minute, heading home Sebastian Rudy's cross.
In the end, 4-1 was how the score ended as Bayern clinched their sixth straight title in emphatic fashion.
