The 27-year-old completed his medical on Saturday, shortly before signing for Bayern on a season-long loan from the Catalans. Speaking on his switch to the Bundesliga champions, Coutinho said he was excited by the new challenge ahead of him.
"For me, this move means a new challenge in a new country with one of the best clubs in Europe," the Brazilian told the club's official website.
"I'm very much looking forward to that.
"Like FC Bayern, I have big ambitions and I'm convinced that I can achieve them together with my new teammates."
Coutinho scored 21 goals and assisted 11 strikes in 76 games for Barca, to whom he will return next year, although there is said to be an option-to-buy clause in his Bayern contract.
