One of this season’s most exciting breakout youngsters in Europe has revealed he has always wanted to represent Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
Florian Wirtz, 17, has enjoyed an incredibly impressive 2021/22 campaign so far in Bayer Leverkusen’s first team, contributing to 11 goals in 19 appearances.
Big clubs have reportedly been keeping a watchful eye on the German, with Mundo Deportivo claiming Barcelona have the attacking midfielder on their radar.

The teenager himself has responded to those rumours, saying he has always dreamed of one day playing for the Catalan giants.
"When I was a kid I always wanted to play for Barcelona. Nothing has changed, but until then I still have some time," he said, according to Caught Offside.
Wirtz, who joined Leverkusen in January last year from Cologne, has represented Germany at every youth level.
