Alexandre Lacazette's impressive strike salvaged a point Arsenal as they drew 1-1 with unbeaten Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
After a lively start to the encounter, the Gunners had an opening after 17 minutes as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did well to pick out Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who headed just wide of the mark.
The Reds went close to pulling level in the 22nd minute when Mohamed Salah picked out Virgil van Dijk, who was thwarted by Bernd Leno.
There was a good tempo to the first half, as both sides showed their attacking intent as the chances continued to fall at both ends.
Arsenal had the ball in the back of the net in the 40th minute when Lacazette slotted home from close range, but the goal was ruled out for an offside in the build up.
Van Djik went close to breaking the deadlock with the final kick of the half as his header crashed off the woodwork with Leno well beaten.
The deadlock was broken on the hour mark as Leno deflected a cross into the path of James Milner, who rifled the ball home amongst a sea bodies in the box.
Leno redeemed himself in the 73rd minute with an impressive finger-tip save to keep out Van Djik's towring header following a corner.
The Gunners were eventually level in the 82nd minute as Lacazette showed good composure to fire past Alisson Becker with a superb curling effort.
Both sides went in search of a winning goal in the closing stages, but neither could carve out another opening as the encounter ended 1-1.
