Borussia Dortmund 3-3 Werder Bremen (Bremen won 3-2 on penalties)
Borussia Dortmund were dumped out of the DFB Pokal following a penalty shoot-out loss to Werder Bremen after it ended 3-3 after extra-time.
Milot Rashica put Bremen after five minutes before Marco Reus levelled matters and ultimately sent the game to extra-time.
Christian Pulisic put Dortmund in the 105th minute, before Claudio Pizarro restored parity three minutes.
Achraf Hakimi thought he had netted the winner when he fired past Jii Pavlenka with seven minutes remaining, but Pizzaro completed his brace to send the game to a penalty shoot-out,
Bremen managed to hold their nerve to claim a 3-2 victory in the shoot-out to progress to the last eight.
Heidenheim 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen were bundled out of the DFB Pokal after losing 2-1 to second division outfit Heidenheim.
The visitors broke the deadlock just before the halftime break courtesy of a goal from Julian Brandt.
However, Hedenheim hit back Nikola Dovedan on 47 minutes before Maurice Multhaup netted the winner for the host in the 72nd minute.
Hamburg 1-0 Nurnberg
Nurnberg's struggling season continued after they crashed out of the cup after losing 1-0 to Hamburg at Volksparkstadion.
Berkay Ozcan was the hero after netting the game's only goal after 54 minutes.
MSV Duisburg 1-3 Paderborn
Paderborn advanced to the next round of the DFB Pokal following a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over MSV Duisburg.
After a goalless second half, Duisburg went ahead on 47th minute through before Bernhard Tekpetey restored parity ten minutes later.
Kai Proger put Paderborn after 61 minutes while Christopher Antw-Adjei sealed the win with 14 minutes remaining.
