Bayern made two changes, as Joshua Kimmich and Benjamin Pavard were recalled while Leverkusen manager Peter Boas handed re-calls to Edmond Tapsoba, Wendell, Charles Aranguiz, Moussa Diaby and Kai Havertz.

After a lively start, the Bavarians opened the scoring in the 16th minute after David Alaba found the back of the net with a suprb free-kick past goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.

Hans-Dieter Flick's charges kept the pressure on and they doubled their lead in the 24th minute after Serge Gnabry went clear on goal after a through ball from Kimmich before firing into the far corner.

However, Boas' troops had space to attack in the closing phase of the first stanza, but there were no clear opportunities as the Bavarians took their two-goal cushion to the break.

The game opened up early in the second stanza but Leverkusen were not clinical enough as Flick's men got their third goal on the hour-mark as Lewandowski brought unleashed a fierce strike past Hradecky after a long ball from shot-stopper Manuel Neuer.

Sven Bender pulled a goal back for Leverkusen immediately thereafter with a close-range header at the back post after a good cross from Kerem Demirbay.

However, Lewandowski eventually made it 4-1 for the Bavarians in the last minute with a chip over Hradecky to complete his brace after a cut-back from Perisic.

There was a late drama as Kevin Volland had a goal chalked off by the Video Assistant Referee in stoppage time but Leverkusen had a consolation as they were awarded a penalty for a handball by Alphonse Davies inside the box.

Havertz dispatched his penalty into the top corner in virtually the last moment of the game to get the consolation goal for Leverkusen as Bayern ran out 4-2 winners to clinch the league and cup double.
