Dembele Blasted For Dortmund Departure

Dembele Blasted For Dortmund Departure

By SL International - May 12, 2018 12:01 PM

FC Barcelona's young star Ousmane Dembele has been criticised by a former teammate for the 'ridiculous' way he departed Borussia Dortmund.

The French forward joined the Catalan giants at the start of the season, although he did not leave peacefully as he would have hoped.

Dembele skipped a training, which led to Dortmund suspending him before he eventually sealed a move elsewhere, which didn't well with goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller.

"That's not the way to leave a club,"Weidenfeller told ESPN of Dembele's departure.

"It caused an unbelievable unrest and nobody could calm down.

"This is a team sport - football is not tennis. He did not even take his boots [before leaving] - it's ridiculous. Before, I could not imagine that there is such a thing.

"Dembele was given the opportunity to make a name for himself at Dortmund at the age of 19. Here, he developed into a player that Barcelona wanted to buy.

"But instead of being grateful, he left the club, staying at home, striking and letting his team-mates down. That's just bad style - no manners."

Do you think it was right the way Dembele left Dortmund? Have your say in the comment section below.

Have been telling everyone that Bayern dnt need coach, Even Khompela can win the leaque in his first season with them. That tells u that all Lazy Cowches will go to Munich and only GOOD COACHES WILL make it to Eufa finals with that squad.

This is the way to go. Teams are greedy. They only look out for themselves and a player suffers. This old goalkeeper should relax. Players come and go. Dolly did the same thing at Sundowns. Vele thats the way to be taken seriously. Percy Tau should do the same thing if Sundowns hold him back in June for nothing.

He was only 19 years old for heaven sake.if he realises that he made blunder by leaving unceremoniously then he will learn from it.

Ithink he has a point,Dembele betrayed them in a way ..unlike neymar who left spain because the officials wouldnt let go of his transfer saga.... He only played 1 season in Bundesliga ..and boom he was ready for Barca, its all happening to soon for him...no wonder he has struggled with form all season.

As much as we want to talk here, we must remember that soccer is a short career and as for Dembele he made a decision that he thinks that is good for his future. The goal keeper is entitled to his opinion anyways. Good move Dembele before Dortmund put a big clause on your head that will scare opportunities away for you

This keeper has a point by the way...at least he should hv shown gratitude to Dormund 4 gving him a chance nt a middle finger as for Bale and others who forced their moves its because they gave everything to their respective teams so they felt it was time to move on...the boy just played 1 season for Dortmund n big club came dangling money infront of him n he forgot his background...at his age he shouldn't be burning bridges cz he doesn't knw wht future holds for him...

Gareth Bale did it when Tottenham was refusing to let him realise his dream move to Real Madrid... I can count a number of players in fact, you just undermine Dembele because you have no respect him!

That's rubbish goalkeeper.. every player starts starts somewhere else and that doesn't mean the player must be stuck even when big clubs come knocking.. you have had manners instead.. are you the team spokesman? I am watching you betrayals.. sell outs.. munangwangwa has spoken
