Dortmund Close The Gap On Bayern With Comeback Win

Eintracht Frankfurt 2-3 Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund rallied back from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in their first Bundesliga clash of the year.

The hosts raced into a two-goal lead in the first half courtesy of a brace from Rafael Borre.

However, Thorgan Hazard started the comeback on 71 minutes before Jude Bellingham got the equaliser in the 87th minute.

Mahmoud Dahoud got the winning goal for Dortmund two minutes later to send six points behind league leaders Bayern Munich

RB Leipzig 2-1 Mainz

RB Leipzig began the new year on a high after thrashing Mainz 4-1 at Red Bull Arena.

Andre Silva bagged a brace while Christopher Nkunku and Dominik Szoboszlai also got their names on the scoresheet for the home side.

Bayer Leverkusen 2-2 Union Berlin

Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin settled for a share of the spoils after playing to a 2-2 draw at the Bay Arnea.

Grischa Promel bagged a brace to put Berlin 2-1 ahead after Patrick Schick had given Leverkusen the lead in the 38th minute, but Jonathan Tah struck in the 84th minute to level matters in the tie.

Freiburg 2-2 Arminia Bielefeld

Arminia Bielefeld rallied back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at Freiburg on Saturday afternoon.

Janik Haberer and Jeong Woo-Yeong put the home side two goals up, but the visitors hit back through Masaya Okugawa and Bryan Lasme in the second half.

Hoffenheim 3-1 Augsburg

Hoffenheim got their new year off to a positive start after claiming a 3-1 victory over Augsburg at the PreZero Arena.

A brace from Ihlas Bebou and a solitary strike from David Raum guided Hoffenheim to victory after Michael Gregoritsch had given Augsburg an early lead.
