Bayer Leverkusen's top-four aspirations got a boost after defeating Hannover 3-2 on Sunday evening.
The Bavarians raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to a brace from striker Kevin Volland, who took his tally to 11 league goals for the season.
Jonathas reduced the deficit for Hannover six minutes into the second half, before a Mitchell Weiser own goal restored parity in the 73rd minute.
However, Leverkusen left it late to secure the spoils, with Kai Havertz popping up the winning goal in the 87th minute.
The victory sees Leverkusen rise up to fifth spot, four points adrift of the top four while Hannover remain in 17th spot.
Hoffenheim 2-1 Nurnberg
Hoffenheim kept their top six hopes alive with a 2-1 victory over Nurnberg at the PreZero Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Andrej Kramaric opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 25th minute before Hanno Behrens restored parity on 61 minutes.
Kramaric had the final say as the former Leicester City striker netted his 12th goal of the season in the 78th minute.
The win moved Hoffenheim up to eighth spot, while remain rooted to the foot of the standings.
