Borussia Monchengladbach leapfrogged Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga standings after thrashing FC Augsburg 5-1 at home on Sunday afternoon.
Denis Zakaria opened proceedings after two minutes with Patrick Hermann following suit with a double on eight and 13 minutes.
Alassane Plea’s 39th minute effort put the host four-nil up at halftime, with Breel Embolo making the game safe after 83 minutes despite Florian Niederlechner’s strike three minutes earlier.
