Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga after hammering Schalke 4-0, with Erling Haaland grabbing a brace on Saturday evening.
Dortmund made two changes from their win over Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League, with Thomas Delaney and Julian Brandt recalled in places of Jude Bellingham and Manuel Akanji.
Jadon Sancho had a chance to give the visitors an early lead in the eighth minute after going on a mazy run and unleashed a low strike strike that was saved by shot-stopper Ralf Fahrmann.
After not being able to break Schalke's resistance, Edin Terzic's charges finally got the breakthrough three minutes before the break as Sancho got his reward with a smashing strike from the edge of the box.
Haaland doubled the lead for BVB on the stroke of half-time with a stunning volley inside the box after a cross by Sancho.
