With Jupp Heynckes leaving his post as Bayern Munich manager at the end of this season, a Bavarian legend has stated that the Bundesliga giants should consider approaching Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
Former Germany international Oliver Kahn believes the Frenchman would be the ideal candidate for Die Roten, as he has experience of managing a dressing room filled with stars and has lifted the likes of the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
“Zinedine Zidane is undoubtedly worth considering, I think he's sensational,” Kahn told German TV channel ZDF, as quoted by ESPN FC.
“He has won everything with Real Madrid and can win his third Champions League title. He's a coach who fits perfectly Bayern Munich's requirement profile.
“He is French and can speak Spanish, so he could learn German, the question is more what can he do extremely well? He can manage a star-studded squad, he was an absolute world star himself, and while many former top players don't go on to become great coaches, he has.”
There have been reports suggesting that the 45-year-old manager could be sacked by the Spanish club if he fails to deliver the Champions League this season.
Do you think the Spanish side will really sack Zidane if he doesn’t deliver a trophy this season? Have your say in the comments section below.
