Bayern Munich have broken their silence on the reports linking Thiago Alcantara with a move to Liverpool, and it's good news for the Premier League champions.
According to SPORT, the Reds are edging closer to signing the former FC Barcelona midfielder as they look to bolster the squad for next season.
While the Spanish outlet claim Bayern are asking for €35million, club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Thiago wants to try something new.
"We haven't had contact with Liverpool," Rummenigge said, as per Marca.
"But if he wants to go there, we'll have to.
"We're negotiating with him, but it seems as though he wants to try something new at the end of his career.
"We don't want to lose him for free. I'm clear about that.
