Stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Luka Modric were selected by 25 000 of their peers for the 2018 World XI, but Spanish publication Marca has now compiled a line-up featuring who they feel are the worst players in 2018 so far.
Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius was selected as goalkeeper after his costly errors on the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid. The German has since been loaned out to Besiktas, with the Reds breaking the bank for Alisson Becker in the latest transfer window.
At the back, United defender Victor Lindelof was chosen alongside Leonardo Bonucci, who struggled to live up to expectations at AC Milan, and Benedikt Howedes, who failed to shine at Juventus.
Wesley Sneijder is part of a four-man midfield after his disastrous spell at OGC Nice, which was ended halfway through the 2017/18 season when he joined Al-Gharafa. Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, former Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Sevilla flop Ganso were the other three midfielder in Marca's 2018 Worst XI.
Up front, Alexis Sanchez is the standout name after his switch from Arsenal to United in January, while Luciano Vietto and Kelechi Iheanacho were also picked.
