The 35-year-old famously won the Ballon d’Or in 2007, the last before the Ronaldo-Messi era started, with both having won five Golden Balls since finishing in second and third spot behind Kaka.
The attacking midfielder played alongside many greats at AC Milan, Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team and Bleacher Report now selected the 2002 FIFA World Cup winner’s best teammates XI.
The line-up includes three players who played alongside Kaka at Los Blancos, namely Iker Casillas, Xabi Alonso and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In addition, seven stars from Kaka’s most successful stint at AC Milan also make his best teammates XI. At the back Cafu, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta were included, while in midfield Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo made the cut. Upfront, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo de Lima, who both were also Kaka’s colleagues at Brazil, were selected.
With Roberto Carlos another Selecao star made the selection, who never played alongside Kaka at club level.
Players such as Lionel Messi, for example, didn’t make the line-up because Kaka never played alongside the Argentine.
