FIFA Reveals Reserve World XI

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Neymar and Toni Kroos did not make the 2018 FIFA FIFPro World XI, but were they good enough for the Reserve World XI?

Salah made the final three of the main prize, The Best FIFA Men's Player of the Year award, but did not get enough votes from his peers to make it into the World XI, which is voted by about 25 000 professional players.

The Egypt and Liverpool superstar, though, received the fourth-most votes among the forwards, which guaranteed him a place in the Reserve World XI. Neymar and Harry Kane are the African's strike partners in the reserve team, while Kevin De Bruyne, Kroos and Paul Pogba were selected in midfield.

Dani Carvajal, Thiago Silva, Samuel Umtiti and Kyle Walker were chosen as the defenders, with The Best FIFA Goalkeeper of the Year Thibaut Courtois being the shot-stopper of the Reserve World XI.

Neymar and Kroos were in the World XI last year, but dropped to the reserve team this time around.
